I feel like Look Serious and Carry a Clipboard needs some explanation.

I'm college room mates/best friends with . Back some time during August/September/October, we'd both read Twilight (hated it, for those who'd like to know). made the comment after reading some of the interactions of Bella and Edward that she could never be the heroine of a story. She'd end doing something or saying something stupid and she would get herself killed or thrown in jail.

I took that statement as a challenge.

Within a few days after that, I had come up with some bare-bones character bios for five of the characters: Bryher, Idelisa, Killian, Caelan and Caedmon. Ferguson soon followed, although he wasn't evil when I first began LSCC. Sitting in a Starbucks, after explaining to about who the characters were, the story was born: adventure!

It was a genre I hadn't really explored before. But considering who the characters I had were, it fit.

Then Kenlie. Oh Kenlie. Kenlie has been around for months, but I wanted to get some of the story moving with the trio before I dropped her in. Kenlie is in our minds of what would happen if you squished my and :iconVuplesRed:'s personalities together, essentially, one of her friends Brandi, or one of my sisters, Hannah. And the moment I started writing her, she became just as real and alive as the other characters.

It's taken on a life of its own. I write everything on paper with pen before I type it, something I've done since I was a little girl, and LSCC just reached its 90th handwritten page. Texting with last night, trying to figure out where to go now, we came up with the idea for another character, who will be introduced in chapter seventeen. The entire thing has been a growing process for me as a writer, and may be one of the few stories I actually complete, partly because wants to knows what happens, and also because when it comes time to actually finish it up, I wanna see what the characters come up with.

But for now, I must head off and get some work done. Just remember: you can go anywhere and do anything as long as you look serious and carry a clipboard.
